Dust If You Must

Thought this was good.  We live each day only once.

Funny, when I was cleaning the house I kept saying to myself, "Cleaning seems to be all I do these days.  I don't want to spend my time just cleaning all the time...only to watch it get dirty and then the cleaning cycle starts all over again."

  • That about sums up my outlook on life.  I don't like to dust. I never have. I do it because I have to. I have enjoyed, in a country setting, sometimes hanging cleanly washed clothes in the sunshine.  Removing those clothes from the clothesline after they have dried leaves me with a crisp, refreshed feeling.  I find myself burying my face into each piece of fabric and sniffing what is left behind of the winds and rays of purification.  As I ponder this thought,  I think it is not the act of hanging the cleaned wet items that gives me pleasure, rather the end results of an uncomplicated simplicity.  Those moments become a true welcomed  breath of fresh air.

  • Makes you think about life.

  • I used to spend most of my days doing that and one day I realized I was not doing anything for myself to enjoy. So I keep the basic stuff done, but I find something I enjoy so I feel my day was not the same routine day in and day out. That zaps joy from us. Sometimes, we can become prisoners within the walls we live in. Even sitting outside to listen to creation or feel the sun on our face and the wind blow through our hair feels like a break from the same stuff. To sit before Yahweh and be grateful for life. To get out and just go somewhere else like a park and embed yourself in nature. Make a craft, read or whatever brings relaxation....Those are the things that matter.

    • I agree.  I soaked in the Fall beauty while driving today.  I do believe this is one of our better Fall seasons so far. :)
